Is Old Whyly pet-friendly?

Yes, we’re delighted to welcome well-behaved dogs at Old Whyly! There is a small charge of £15 per dog, per stay, to cover the extra care needed to make everyone’s visit comfortable. Just let us know in advance if your furry friend will be joining you, and we’ll ensure everything’s ready for a warm welcome!

Is breakfast included with my stay?

Absolutely! A delicious, locally-sourced breakfast is served each morning, with freshly squeezed orange juice.

Are children welcome at Old Whyly?

Yes, we welcome families and are delighted to accommodate young guests to experience the beauty of Old Whyly.

How close is Old Whyly to Glyndebourne?

Old Whyly is conveniently located just a 15-minute drive from Glyndebourne, making it the perfect base for opera-goers.

Is the swimming pool heated, and when can it be used?

Our swimming pool is heated and open for use during the summer months.

Can I use the tennis court, and are racquets and balls provided?

Yes, our tennis court is open year-round for guests. We’re happy to provide racquets and balls upon request, so just let us know if you’d like to play.

Can I book Old Whyly for a private party?

Yes, Old Whyly is available for exclusive hire for private parties, family gatherings, and celebrations.

Is dinner available at Old Whyly?

Yes, dinner is available by request and served at 7:30 pm with drinks in the Drawing Room at 7 pm. Let us know in advance, and we’ll be delighted to prepare a delicious dinner for you.

Can I host a wedding at Old Whyly?

No, we do not host weddings. However, we’re delighted to welcome you for other special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and family gatherings.

What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check-In times are by arrangement, and Check-Outs are between 10:30am and 11am.

What size beds for you provide?

We have 3 super-king size beds and 1 king size.

An excellent place to stay - so good I recommended it to my parents, and there is no higher praise! Friendly and accommodating people, a beautiful garden, lovely house and excellent food. Not inexpensive, but the price reflects the standard.

We stayed for a night at Old Whyly as part of a hunt for a calm weekend after a very busy time: we found it in spades. The house and grounds are beautiful, and Sarah and Leah looked after us royally. Sarah cooked us a delicious supper, sitting by the fire before and after was lovely and meeting Minnie was an extra bonus. We will definitely be returning (hopefully when the garden is in full pomp). Thank you, all!

We’ve been coming to Old Whyly for nearly twenty years now. Sarah and Leah make us feel so welcome when we’re staying with them, we feel like part of the family. Our rooms are always spotless, and the breakfast is wonderful. Do be sure to book dinner at least once when you stay, as it’s always delicious. We tend to visit when it’s cold, so a nice drink in the drawing room by the fire is always a highlight. Many thanks for such wonderful stays over the years! James and Darlene

Old Whyly is a charming, peaceful and stunning hideaway. Tucked in the Sussex countryside you will be made to feel like a guest at a Country House. We highly recommend this B&B for really wonderful hospitality.

We stayed for 3 nights at Old Whyly in May. What a wonderful experience - beautiful and historic property, comfortable and lovely accommodations, and wonderful food. Sarah made us feel right at home - the outside of the property and her gardens were beautiful. The location was quiet, but SO accessible to all the local places we wanted to see. And, we had the extra treat of meeting Sarah's delightful little dog Minnie. Highly recommend and hope to visit again soon.
